Arsenal fans were over the moon with Jack Wilshere’s first half performance against Doncaster Rovers in the League Cup on Wednesday night.
Wilshere made his first start of the season for Arsenal’s senior team against Doncaster in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night and while the Gunners looked pretty unconvincing, especially in the second half, the midfielder was a delight to watch during the narrow 1-0 win.
Gooners were not just chuffed to see one of their favourite Arsenal players back in action for the first team after they were given a 22-minute taster against FC Koln in the Europa League last Thursday, but happy to see him looking so sharp.
The England international also completed his first 90 minutes since September 2014 against Southampton.
The 25-year-old, who’s been linked with a move to West Ham once his contract runs out at the end of the season, hasn’t lost any of his skill on the ball and put in several fantastic passes, including a masterful chip to Olivier Giroud in the sixth minute.
The France international, however, was intent on scoring an overhead kick for his 100th Arsenal goal and hit the crossbar, denying Wilshere his assist.
Giroud and Wilshere continued to link up well throughout the first half, which got fans hungry to see the on-pitch partnership again in the future.
Jack Wilshere just played 90 minutes for Arsenal for the first time in nearly 3 years. And he was really, really good.

Jack Wilshere makes football look so easy. Hopefully he can stay fit and get some real game time in the Prem.

All this years later, Wilshere is still our most exciting central midfield player after Cazorla.

It really is Jack Wilshere FC.

Jack Wilshere isn’t afraid to play the easy but effective ball. And it’s in that simplicity Pep Guardiola saw something of Iniesta in him

The linkup between Sanchez and Wilshere at times is beautiful.

I don’t wanna overreact but Jack Wilshere is the best midfielder in the world
