Carlo Ancelotti plans to take the rest of the season off, unless he’s offered the Arsenal job.

That’s according to a report from The S*n, who claim that the only job that could tempt the Italian back into management would be the Arsenal one.

Ancelotti was sacked by Bayern Munich following their 3-0 defeat to Paris St. Germain in the Champions League.

A number of poor performances led to his sacking, despite the fact that Bayern won the Bundesliga just last season and were unfortunate to go out in the Champions League.

Ancelotti now plans to take the rest of the season off, especially as there is close to zero chance of him being offered the Arsenal job.

The simple explanation for that is that Arsenal are never going to sack Arsene Wenger, unless things go incredibly badly and we end up closer to relegation than to the top four.

Even then, nobody could be sure that Wenger would go.

With Ancelotti now available, he’ll likely be linked with Arsenal between now and his next job.

The Italian would be near the top of most people’s lists of Wenger replacements. However, with Wenger contracted to 2019, there’s not going to be a change of manager any time soon.
