Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits his side need to “work together” on tightening the defence, after an error-strewn performance in Friday’s 4-3 win over Leicester City.

“I feel that the goals we conceded, we can work together to get rid of that. One was a corner, one was a ball we lost in the build up and the third goal was on a corner again, so we conceded two goals on (set pieces),” he said reports Arsenal.com.

“We were quite good last year on corners and overall I believe that with a bit of work we can get that out of the system.”

The Gunners conceded three goals from Leicester City’s six shots on the night, with almost error defensive error being capitalised upon. A non fully-fit Shkodran Mustafi and Laurent Koscielny forced Wenger into making changes at the back.

He eventually settled on Rob Holding, Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain playing left wing-back and Hector Bellerin on the right, and the Arsenal manager revealed after the win that the defence needs some work.

Arsenal will miss Koscielny for another game, but Shkodran Mustafi should be back soon given he made the bench for the Leicester clash. Gabriel Paulista perhaps would have featured if not for his own injury.

For the Leicester City clash, Wenger kept his 3-4-2-1 formation, but his side were continuously exploited by the visitors on the break. The pace from Jamie Vardy saw him in behind a number of times and their finishing was ruthlessly efficient on the night.
