Tottenham Hotspur are battling with Arsenal for the signature of highly-rated Manchester City winger Jadon Sancho this summer. And this video perhaps shows why.

If you’re wondering why the two North London rivals and a number of other clubs continue  to be linked with the teenager, this is the reason, reports the Daily Star.

The left winger was one of England’s star performers at the U17 European Championships earlier this summer. It was a game against Norway where he really showed what he could do.

He left the Norwegian defenders for dead with his pace and trickery and was often able to get his head up and spot a teammate. It’s this ability that makes him one of the highest rated youngsters in the country and explains why Manchester City are willing to sign him to a £30,000-per-week contract.

Sancho has concerns about getting first-team football at City, however, and has been pushing to a move. As we reported yesterday, Sancho has been in London for weeks and hasn’t turned up to City training. Arsenal were thought to be favourites to sign him, but now it seems Spurs have taken the lead.

Sancho wants regular playing time and could feel that Mauricio Pochettino could give him that at Tottenham, having already proven he’s willing to give young players a chance.
