Turkish midfielder Arda Turan has asked Barcelona to wait until January to sell him.

Turan is far from a first-team regular at Barcelona and his recent performances have done nothing to change that fact. As a result, the Catalans are hoping to pawn him off on any sucker willing to pay more than £20m for him.

According to Barca Blaugranes, Turan has now asked Barcelona to wait until January before selling him. The report says the Turkish midfielder doesn’t want to move back to his home country and is struggling finding concrete interest in his signature. As a result, he wants to wait until January in the hopes that a Chinese club might sign him.

The Gunners have been linked Turan this summer, mostly because the former Atletico Madrid man is a midfielder and Arsenal happen to need one of those. Earlier in the summer, Turan was touted as a potential replacement for Mesut Ozil, who people thought could leave due to his contract situation.

However, as the summer progressed, it became clear that Ozil wasn’t leaving and that there would be no room for Turan in the Arsenal squad. Arsene Wenger being linked to Turan is something you can count on in every transfer window. If we go into January with a midfield injury crisis, you can bet that we’ll be linked with him again.
