Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has said he is “one step closer” to returning to full fitness, posting a video on social media that shows him stepping up his recovery.

The midfielder has been out since last October with an achilles injury but seems to finally be on the mend, reports the Daily Mail. Our cheerful Spaniard posted a video of himself working out on his Instagram, along with the caption: “One step more, one step closer!”

Cazorla was expected to return much earlier, but the injury didn’t heal as it was expected to. After several months of consulting with a specialist in Spain and several operations, it seems the deep-lying playmaker is on the mend again.

No date has been given for his return, but the 32-year-old himself expects to be able to take part at some point this season. While he may not return in time to effect Arsenal’s season that much, it’d be a considerable boost to everyone to see Cazorla playing football again.

Arsenal haven’t been able to entirely compensate for his absence and will hope that he comes back the same player he was before injury.
