Arsenal reportedly approached Bayern Munich over a move for winger, Kingsley Coman, several weeks ago.
According to TF1 [via GFFN], Arsenal made an enquiry over Bayern winger, Coman, several weeks ago. However, the Bundesliga giants don’t want to sell and the 21-year-old allegedly doesn’t want to leave either.
The rumour is certainly possible. Arsene Wenger confirmed to BeIN Sport back in 2015 that he tried to sign the youngster when he moved from Paris Saint-Germain, where he’d been brought through the ranks, to Juventus.
The boss also seems to be on the look out for a young winger this summer, with Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, who’s the same age as Coman, being heavily linked with a move to north London.
Perhaps Wenger just made a tentative enquiry around the time Monaco allegedly started knocking back Arsenal’s supposed bids. However, obviously, this is just speculation on my part.
Coman has three years left on his deal in Germany, where he only signed a permanent deal in April.
Until then, the France international had been with Bayern for two years on loan from Juventus. The German giants apparently had to pay €28m to bring the winger on board full-time.
The young Frenchman only made 25 appearances for Bayern last season, scoring just two goals, after spending a total of 137 days sidelined through injury.
The season before that, however, he featured 35 times, scored six goals and racked up 12 assists. One of these assists came against Arsenal during Bayern’s 5-1 Champions League win at the Allianz Arena.
Coman has been capped for France’s senior team 11 times and scored once.
