Shkodran Mustafi’s father, who is also his agent, has confirmed that there will be no transfer for his son today.

Amid all the speculation that Mustafi could be on the way out of the club, and rumours of bids from Inter Milan and Juventus, the German international’s father had the following message to send out:

There certainly seemed to be something going on with Mustafi in the past week or so, as David Ornstein claimed that he’d been offered to West Brom and consequently rejected by the Baggies.

But regardless, it now seems the 25-year-old is set to stay at the Emirates. This was further confirmed earlier today by Inter Milan’s director of football Walter Sabatini, who told reporters that after making an attempt to sign Mustafi, they now won’t make any more signings.

Whether this is good news or not is hard to say. Arsenal don’t have too many experienced centre-backs left at the club, so holding onto one is surely a positive. However, if Mustafi wanted to leave the Gunners so badly that they offered him to West Brom, then maybe he’s not the best person to have around the club.

Hopefully these comments from his father mean that this isn’t the case and the German does want to stay at the club. At the end of the day, the most important thing is how he performs on the pitch.
