Micky Quinn has predicted a sixth-placed finish for Arsenal in the Premier League this season, meaning consecutive campaigns of failing in the top-four.
You’d be hard pressed to find any pundit, writer, or any other so-called expert that would back Arsenal this season. Never mind us winning the league, few of them even think we can get back into the top-four of the Premier League.
In his latest column for Chronicle Live, Micky Quinn has predicted a sixth-placed finish for Arsenal. He writes that the Europa League will be too big a distraction for the Gunners, though he doesn’t elaborate any further.
Elsewhere, he believes champions Chelsea will drop out of the top-four completely and finish fifth, and Liverpool, who just about got fourth last year, to finish second behind Manchester City.
This season feels like it’ll be one of the most open in recent seasons, with no club standing out as obvious champions at this stage. However, Manchester City and Manchester United have been most people’s pick to win the league, possibly because of their financial outlay.
Nobody has predicted Arsenal as the Gunners have hardly proven to be the most reliable pick. It’s disheartening but perhaps will spur the players on to perform.
