Lucas Perez’s agent thinks that Arsenal should accept Deportivo’s offer for the Spaniard.

Purchased by Arsenal less than a year ago, Lucas Perez wasn’t given as many opportunities as he had hoped and is now hoping to complete a move away from the club.

Deportivo have reportedly made an offer of £10.9m, but Arsenal want closer to the £16m they paid last summer.

And according to Sky Sports correspondent Bryan Swanson on Twitter, Lucas’ agent has said the Gunners should accept this current offer.

Arsène Wenger has conceded that he should let the player go, previously admitting having too much competition up front.

However, as with the other fringe players that appear to be on the way out, Arsenal don’t want to bend on their valuations. There has been little movement out of the club as a result.

I think Arsenal are perhaps holding out for other bidders, given that Lucas impressively grabbed seven goals and five assists in 21 appearances, only six of which involved completing the full 90 minutes.

Unless serious interest is shown by another club in the coming days, I believe the safest option is to take the money and free up the wage budget.
