Lucas Perez’s agent has said there is plenty of interest in the forward from all around Europe.

The player’s representative, Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle, has been giving a useful running commentary on the striker’s situation and was keen to remind everyone that there’s plenty of interest in his client.

The comments come amid speculation that Newcastle could make a bid. So far, only Deportivo have made a bid, while Fenerbahce are interested in taking Lucas on loan.

“There is a lot of interest in the French league, the Turkish league, the Premier League , the Bundesliga,” Lovelle said, reports Chronicle Live. “It’s normal, we’re talking about an Arsenal player who did not play a lot there but he’s the only one who scored in four competitions.”

Lovelle missed out Spain, but you’d have to ask where all the bids are if so many clubs are interested in Lucas. It’s possible that Arsenal’s asking price, believed to be £13.4m, is putting off a lot of suitors.

Sides might be playing a waiting game to see if Arsenal will lower their demands closer to the end of the transfer window. The Gunners have had trouble shifting their unwanted players this summer, with several of them not justifying Arsenal’s valuations.

Lucas was left of the club’s pre-season tour in order to hash out a move with an interested party. But so far no club have met Arsenal’s valuation.
