Jurgen Klopp talks about how Liverpool will deal with Alexis Sanchez

Jurgen Klopp has given his press conference ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Arsenal on Sunday.

Klopp admitted that while Alexis Sanchez, who’s set to return to the fold after an abdominal problem, is a brilliant player, instructing the Liverpool players to focus only on him wouldn’t be a very good tactic.

“Sanchez is world-class. We just prepare and defend,” Klopp said.

“We have to avoid the passes. We can’t just concentrate on him.”

The German also gave injury updates, revealing that Philippe Coutinho, who reportedly handed in a transfer request recently ahead of a potential move to Barcelona, is still out through illness.

There’s also doubt over Trent Alexander-Arnold and Emre Can but they ‘should be okay’.

Liverpool drew their opening game of the season 3-3 away to Watford and beat Crystal Palace 1-0 last weekend. Therefore, they’re in a slightly better position than Arsenal, who have won one and lost one.

Saying this, the Merseyside team had to face Hoffenheim on Wednesday in their Champions League qualifier. While they won 4-2, the extra fixture could make the difference.

Last time the Gunners traveled to Anfield, they lost 3-1, so hopefully they can either get a result or not lose embarrassingly this time around.
