Ian Wright has described summer signing Sead Kolašinac as “brilliant” after the Arsenal man made his Premier League debut.

Kolašinac has had a very impressive start to life in North London, after completing his free transfer from Schalke earlier in the window.

The 24-year-old played a mixture of centre-back and wing-back from the Gunners during pre-season, and showed his capabilities in both positions.

And Arsenal legend Ian Wright has told BBC Radio 5 Live via HITC that he thinks the early signs are good, saying: “He’s brilliant. I think he could be a real top signing for us, and so could Lacazette.”

Sead looked particularly promising on the left-hand side, grabbing an assist as well as being heavily involved in two more goals against Benfica. So it would seemingly be disappointing for Arsenal fans that he then made his first two competitive appearances for the club at centre-back.

However, the player known as the ‘Bosnian Hulk’ in Germany produced another two good performances from this position, first scoring in the Community Shield win, and then assisting in the Premier League opener against Leicester.

The defensive side of his game also looked promising, but against Leicester the makeshift back-three struggled, which was probably as a result of not starting a game together before, I think.

The Arsenal fans have certainly taken to the player, and it’s not a surprise given how long they’ve been calling out for players who are up for a fight like Sead.
