After watching Alexandre Lacazette in action against Leicester on Friday night, Thierry Henry is a big fan.

Henry believes that Lacazette’s overall play was ‘on point’ against Leicester during Arsenal’s insane 4-3 win on Friday night. Although he admits he’s a bit biased…

“I like him,” Henry told Monday Night Football, reports Metro.

“His overall play is on point. Obviously he is going to have to score goals and goals and goals to get the crowd going, but the way he has started is very good for me.

“The most important thing is that he does score goals. Obviously I am going to be biased because he is French and he plays for Arsenal but I like his overall play. Very neat, very clean, he does whatever the game is asking him to do.

“I think Lacazette is going to play in the centre. That is where I would like to see him play. Giroud can offer a lot and he showed that but I would love to see the partnership that Sanchez and Lacazette can create.”

The former Lyon striker was moved out wide to make room for Olivier Giroud once or twice in pre-season, which Gooners were a little concerned about considering the club have just spent £52m on a proven goalscorer just to move him to the wing. However, that appeared just be a temporary solution.

The 26-year-old isn’t exactly a stranger to the wing but the last time he played out right was during the 2014/15 season. Once. Against Astra Giurgiu in the Europa League.

However, the season before that he was all over the shop, playing four games out left, five on the right wing, one at attacking-mid and one as a secondary striker. Of course, he still featured 40 times at centre-forward.

Although Arsene Wenger is known for liking to push striker’s out wide, the amount of money Arsenal have spent on the France international, who scored 37 goals in 45 appearances last season and had the best conversion rate in Europe, indicates that this time the boss will keep him up front.

Wenger’s already revealed that, if Alexis Sanchez stays, he prefers playing on the wing anyway. The only issue is Olivier Giroud, who, as much as he doesn’t like it, is an amazing super-sub and that probably won’t change this season.
