Galatasaray are reportedly looking to sign Kieran Gibbs for £4m.

According to the Times, Galatasaray are looking to sign Gibbs for £4m. However, Arsenal are said to be looking to receive closer to £10m for the 27-year-old left-back.

Gibbs, who has under a year left on his current deal, has already been linked with West Brom and Watford, with a combination of the Gunners’ asking price and defender’s apparent wage demands said to be a stumbling block for both clubs.

The Englishman has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal behind Nacho Monreal, making just 22 appearances across all competitions last season. Only 11 of which were in the Premier League.

Since the club signed Sead Kolasinac, Gibbs’ days look numbered.

Now, despite being at Arsenal since the age of just 14, Gibbs is said to be willing to move. Although if he’s really not going to budge over his apparent £80k-per-week wages, the Gunners could face losing him for free next year.

Gibbs is just one of several players who have run into the final year of their contract at Arsenal. One of them was Carl Jenkinson, who’s now gone out on loan to Birmingham and appears to have had his contract extended by two years.

Perhaps the same will happen with Gibbs in order to shift him away from the club while Arsene Wenger concentrates on tying down the bigger players.

Although surely that would be counterproductive?
