Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has reportedly rejected a move to Chelsea in favour of pushing through a transfer to Liverpool and Arsenal fans have reacted in hilarious fashion.

The Ox reportedly turned down the chance to sign for Chelsea for £40m because he finally realised that he would most likely be played as a wing-back, which is supposedly the reason he wants to leave Arsenal.

Instead, the 24-year-old wants to sign for Liverpool, who he’s been linked with all summer, in hope of obtaining a central midfield role. Although, if he thinks he’s going to just walk into the Liverpool squad and take over from Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum, Emre Can or Philippe Coutinho, especially after his performance against them on Sunday, he’s got another thing coming.

Although Gooners are generally a bit miffed because Liverpool, who have already allegedly had an offer of £30m rejected, aren’t prepared to pay as much as Chelsea, so by changing his mind the Ox could screw the club he’s been at for six years out of money, most have made their peace with him going and find his change of heart funny.

Since the news broke that the Ox would prefer a move to Liverpool or is prepared to just stay at Arsenal for the final year of his contract, the Gunners have reportedly told him that he’s no longer wanted at the club.
