Everton and Arsenal are reportedly after Emre Mor, with Borussia Dortmund apparently willing to sell this summer.
Emre joined Dortmund from Nordsjælland in 2016, having spent his entire youth career in Denmark. The player is still only 20, but according to the Daily Star, he wasn’t happy with the 12 league appearances he made last season and is now looking to start again somewhere else.
In all competitions last season, the Turkish international made 19 appearances and scored one goal, as well as adding three assists. He mostly plays as a right-winger, but has also appeared on the left or as an attacking midfielder for Dortmund.
Part of the reason for his limited appearances was that he suffered from a couple of short-term injuries and a red card in the league just as he was starting to put a few games together.
Mor had played three league games in a row when he was sent off against Hertha BSC, but after his suspension was served he only appeared in three of the next 10, making one start.
The Sun claim that the primary clubs interested in the player are Everton, Liverpool, Roma and Inter Milan, but that Arsenal are also keeping an eye on him. They say that the winger would be available for £12m and that Dortmund aren’t interested in loaning him out.
From an Arsenal perspective, Reiss Nelson had a very strong pre-season, as did Alex Iwobi, while Theo Walcott improved towards the end. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain looked better than ever, Alexis is still set to return and Danny Welbeck seems to have shaken off his injuries.
In short, there isn’t much space for a winger in the Arsenal squad, regardless of whether that winger is experienced or a youth player looking to step up.
