Mathieu Debuchy has been offered a deal by Turkish club Besiktas, as he moves closer to an Arsenal exit.

The French 32-year-old still has two years remaining on his Arsenal deal, but is looking increasingly likely to leave the club in the current window, and Besiktas have become the latest club to show an interest according to the Express.

The Express report that Marseille and Besiktas are the two clubs most interested in a move for the former Newcastle defender. Besiktas have apparently put a £2.3m contract offer on the table for the player.

Debuchy has only made 13 league appearances in the three years since he joined the Gunners, although a large portion of this was disrupted by his injury problems.

After a decent start Debuchy picked up a three-month injury midway through September in his first season. On returning, he only spent a month fit before dislocating his shoulder and spending another three months on the sidelines. By the time he recovered from this injury, Hector Bellerín had taken his place in the side.

After a loan to Bordeaux in 2016, Mathieu finally got back into the team last season, making a start against Bournemouth. However, he again got injured, and since then has only made appearances for the u23 side.

Debuchy was also left out of the pre-season tour and the Emirates Cup, despite being fit, so it appears that a move is the most likely outcome at this stage. After a deal with Nice reportedly fell through earlier in the window, let’s just hope that there are no further complications with Marseille or Besiktas.
