David Dein’s son, Darren, is apparently helping former Tottenham manager, Harry Redknapp, with transfers over at Birmingham City.

Darren Dein has decided to side with the enemy: Harry Redknapp.

In fact, the son of Arsenal’s former vice-chairman is reported by the Birmingham Mail to be advising the ex-Spurs boss with his transfers.

Not that the renowned football agent, who was best man at Thierry Henry’s wedding, betraying Arsenal is anything new. He’s been helping Gunners leave north London for years, with some of his most notable clients – Cesc Fabregas, Robin van Persie, Emmanuel Adebayor, and Gael Clichy – all leaving the club with his help.

What’s more, he’s married to Sara Buchler, the daughter of ex-Tottenham vice-chairman, David Buchler, and once dated Louise Sugar. I probably don’t need to tell you who she’s related to, do I?

So why is Darren helping a former enemy such a big deal? Why is it a betrayal?

His father, David Dein, as I already mentioned, is Arsenal’s former vice-chairman.

He was at the club between 1983 and 2007, and was a key figure in the club’s recent history. To put it lightly.

He helped bring Arsene Wenger to north London and was responsible for recruiting some of the best players in the Gunners’ history, such as Ian Wright, Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Marc Overmars, Robert Pires, Sol Campbell and Cesc Fabregas. As Ron Burgundy would say, he’s kind of a big deal.

Realistically, Darren is just a business man doing business. He’s probably not got anything against Arsenal…

I said probably…
