Arsenal fans have urged Barcelona to sign Theo Walcott after it emerged that social media reportedly had a big part to play in the La Liga club’s interest in Nice midfielder, Jean-Michael Seri.

Barca have been heavily linked with alleged Arsenal target, Jean-Michael Seri, this summer, and radio station RAC1 [via the Independent] are claiming that the Catalan giants’ interest in the Nice midfielder began when they saw the fuss fans were making on social media platforms Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Seri was reportedly supposed to fly to Spain to complete his move soon but Barca have allegedly had a chance of heart.

True or not, as soon as Arsenal fans got wind of the rumours, they set about talking up Theo Walcott on social media, urging Barca to sign the forward, who’s out of contract with Arsenal in two years.

Despite being a Gunner for over a decade, Theo has failed to really reach his potential and now, at the age of 28, it’s looking less and less likely that he has a future in north London.

This season, the Englishman, who’s not been called up for his country since November 2016, has played just 27 minutes over Arsenal’s two Premier League fixtures.
