Of the six Arsenal players on loan so far this season, five had the potential to be involved in Saturday’s matches, with Emi Martinez and Getafe not playing until Sunday.

Two of the five available were given starts, Cohen Bramall and Carl Jenkinson – both at Birmingham City.

Unfortunately for Jenkinson, his first competitive senior start since late November 2016 ended way too early, after he dislocated his shoulder and had to be substituted in the 33rd minute.

Birmingham boss Harry Redknapp confirmed after the game that Jenkinson would now probably have to spend a couple of months on the sidelines.

On the other hand, although the overall result was a disappointing 2-0 loss for Birmingham, Bramall put in one of the few good performances.

The Birmingham fans had a lot of good things to say about the 21-year-old, although some felt he could’ve been a little more unselfish at times.

Takuma Asano didn’t start in Stuttgart’s second Bundesliga game against Mainz, but played the last 27 minutes as the German side won 1-0.

He posted how happy he was with their first win on Instagram after the game.

Stephy Mavididi was also brought on from the bench for the last 15 minutes of Preston North End’s match against Middlesbrough. However, he was unable to help the side break the deadlock and the match ended 0-0.

Finally, Marc Bola was selected for the bench against Bristol Rovers, but didn’t manage to get on as Rovers beat Fleetwood Town 3-1.
