Besiktas reportedly want to open talks with Arsenal over Oguzhan Ozyakup’s sell-on clause, which is currently allegedly set at 30%.

Former Arsenal midfielder, Ozyakup, is reportedly set to sign a new five-year contract with Besiktas, with his current deal set to run out next year.

Considering he signed for the Turkish side four years ago for £456,000, it’s being reported by Fanatik that they want to discuss the 24-year-old’s 30% sell-on clause, presumably in order to either reduce or get rid of it completely. Preferably the latter.

Besiktas are allegedly willing to pay £913,000 up front in order to waver the clause. However, Arsenal are yet to agree and have instead invited club bosses to fly over to London for a chin-wag.

The Turkey international is said to be valued at around £18m, which means the Gunners would get £5.5m if they sold him on… unless they’re feeling generous and decide to scrap the clause.

Ozyakup is one of Besiktas’s key players, making a total of 184 appearances for them since signing in 2013. He’s scored 27 goals in total and assisted 42.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a return to Arsenal this summer but only briefly and he’s now supposedly agree his new deal with Besiktas in principle.

He was also linked with Marseille, Roma and even West Ham.

He’s also been capped 26 times for his country and scored once.
