Chelsea have reportedly agreed a fee of £5m to sign Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and supporters vented their fury on social media.
There were mixed responses to the Ox’s impending move, with some fans glad that at least one of the summer’s sagas seems to almost be over.
Some were glad to see the English international leave after six seasons of relative inconsistency, while others were upset that another promising player is leaving Arsenal for a rival.
This first tweet sums up the reactions of those who fall into the latter category, succinctly portraying how many Arsenal fans feel right now:

Other fans were also worried that the deal would come back to haunt the Gunners, as so many deals have done in the past:
Watch him play some of the best football of his career playing under a proper manger.

Whilst the following tweets show that the 24-year-old isn’t exactly in the good books of most fans as he leaves North London. One supporter wants Reiss Nelson to step into his shoes.
He can't cross or shoot, so anything above £5m is acceptable.

There was also the question raised of why a player who was so close to leaving the club even played during Sunday’s disaster at Anfield. Fans seemed confused why players who are clearly staying didn’t get the nod instead, especially when it worked out so poorly:

But mostly, fans just want to know where the money is going:
So if both Ox and Mustafi go without us buying more we'd have had a £40M profit this window. Are we building a 2nd stadium I don't know of?

It’s a bit of a mess at Arsenal and supporters are frustrated to see the lessons not being learned as they go into another season not knowing which players are staying and going.
Arsenal have lost back-to-back Premier League games are find themselves 16th with three points from as many games this season. It’s perhaps no wonder why so many seem keen to jump ship.
