Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere looks set to stay at the club, despite reports of an exodus during the last few days of the window. He could now be sold in January instead.

Wilshere only has a year left on his current Arsenal deal, and as a result it was rumoured that he might be on the way out this summer. However, with just a few days of the transfer window remaining and a lack of interest, the 25-year-old might be sold in January instead.

According to Goal, Wilshere will stay on with Arsenal until the winter transfer window where his future could then be decided. He’s currently returning to full fitness and may provide the Gunners with a useful creative option in midfield given the criticism coming the way of Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka.

Arsenal are having problems in central midfield at the moment and it’s played its part in their slim this season. The Gunners are currently 16th in the Premier League with three points from as many games, having won their opener to Leicester City before suffering defeats to Stoke City and Liverpool.

Wilshere was playing for the U23s while he was still building up his fitness, but recently picked up a two-game suspension after being involved in a brawl. If he can impress for the reserves when he returns to action, he may yet be able to save his career.
