Arsenal missed out on Paris Saint-Germain winger Julian Draxler last season but could now have the opportunity to sign him.
Arsenal and Julian Draxler have been linked together for years, when the German emerged as one of Europe’s most exciting talents.
The winger has moved to Wolfsburg and Paris Saint-Germain since, but is still being linked with Arsenal. It seemed he was about to become an important player at Paris Saint-Germain until they went and got Neymar just because they could.
Someone has to make for way for the Brazilian, and if PSG’s squad against Guingamp last night was anything to go by, that someone could be Draxler. When Draxler made the move, he believed the Ligue 1 giants were the best club for him at the time.
“You know we have been in talks with some clubs in England as well, but this time I decided to make the decision as to what I feel and what I prefer for myself,” he said, reports the Metro.
“I chose a great new step in my career because PSG is a really, really great club . They have big goals, they want to reach big things and that’s why I want to be part of it.”
There is now talk that Arsenal could sign Draxler now, especially if PSG are still interested in Alexis Sanchez. There’s some thought that Arsenal could be willing to sell Alexis to PSG if they get a player – either Draxler or Lucas Moura – in return.

However, on Twitter at least, Arsenal fans are divided about such a deal. It might be too late in the window for a move to happen, but the situation at PSG is certainly one worth keeping an eye on. A good winger could well be available later on in the season.
