Inter Milan have reportedly beaten Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Caen’s Yann Karamoh, in a deal worth around £9m this summer.
According to the Express, Inter are set to sign the talented forward, but manager Luciano Spalletti is frustrated the deal isn’t yet officially complete. The 19-year-old has attracted the interest of Arsenal and Tottenham ahead of the new season, but the Premier League duo look set to miss out.
The French U21 international made 35 appearances for Caen last season, scoring five goals. He primarily operated as a right-winger but can play on the left and through the middle. Karamoh is one of two forwards linked with a move to the San Siro, with Inter also targeting Liverpool’s Sadio Mane.
As for Arsenal and Totttenham’s interest in the teenager, the Gunners have stiff competition for a starting place currently, while the likes of Reiss Nelson and Alex Iwobi have made the step-up from youth player to first-team – the former featured heavily in pre-season.
Tottenham haven’t made one notable acquisition this summer, although they are targeting young talent, with a view to developing promising players until they get to first-team level. But the Express’ report suggests Karamoh will be an Inter Milan player this summer.
