West Bromwich Albion have agreed a fee of £7m for Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs, according to latest reports.

Further to our earlier report that West Brom could be looking to hijack Watford’s bid for the left-back, John Percy of the Telegraph is now reporting that the Baggies have agreed a fee with Arsenal and that the medical is likely to be later today.

This comes after the news that Watford are pulling out of the transfer, as they couldn’t agree personal terms with the 27-year-old.

Gibbs hasn’t played any part in Arsenal’s pre-season, nor in the opening games of the new campaign as he looks to secure a move away from North London.

With the World Cup less than a year away, the 27-year-old will be looking for game time to boost his hopes of an England return perhaps, and at Arsenal this doesn’t seem to be a possibility.

Gibbs has made 230 appearances for Arsenal since coming through the academy, making his debut in 2006. He made just 11 appearances last season, many of which came from the bench. West Brom have until deadline day on Thursday to complete the deal.
