Arsenal and Barcelona have been linked with Paris Saint-Germain forward Julian Draxler, following reports the World Cup winner has asked his agent to find him a new club.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Draxler is keen to leave the Parc des Princes following the signing of Neymar from Barcelona, whom he believes is his replacement in the starting eleven.

The German international’s agent Roger Wittmann has been told to contact Barcelona as they’re searching for an inside forward, though the Spanish giants have been more linked with Angel Di Maria than Draxler. Arsenal have long been linked with the 23-year-old too.

Barcelona are in the market for a forward, however, looking to Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho and Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele as potential options, and have around £200m from Neymar’s sale to spend on a new recruit.

Draxler joined Paris Saint-Germain from Vfl Wolfsburg midway through last season, having been frozen out by the German Bundesliga side as a result of seeking an exit from the Volkswagen Arena.

He made 12 Ligue 1 starts for the eventual French runners-up in 2016/17, contributing five goals. With Neymar now adding competition in the attack, Draxler’s chances of regular football at PSG appear slim, I feel.
