Arsene Wenger insists that Aaron Ramsey should be fit enough to face Chelsea in the Community Shield on Sunday.

When Rambo was noticeably absent from Arsenal’s open training session at the Emirates on Thursday, fans grew concerned that the injury-prone midfielder had once again been sidelined.

However, while Wenger has confirmed ahead of the Gunners’ third clash against Antonio Conte’s side in three months that the Wales international has been carrying a muscular problem, he claimed that he should be ready to battle the Blues.

The boss went on to also reveal that Mesut Ozil has also had a bad ankle but both will be in training on Saturday.

Wenger did admit that he wasn’t sure if Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez, who have both just returned to training, will feature but he will assess their fitness later. Although the Chilean is over the flu, which saw him return to training at London Colney on Tuesday, two days later than anticipated.

“We have basically everyone available to choose from on Sunday and today in training we didn’t have Ozil, but he should be alright, and Ramsey, who should be alright as well,” Wenger said, according to Arsenal.com.
“Some players are just coming back like Alexis and Mustafi, and I haven’t decided yet if I will involve them or not.”
Hopefully Rambo’s injury really is minor. The 26-year-old missed the beginning of last season with a hamstring injury and ended up spending a total of 122 days out of action during the course of the campaign. It would be a shame to see a repeat of that.
Francis Coquelin is out for two weeks after getting injured in the Emirates Cup, so won’t be available, and Gabriel, while running again, still isn’t ready to return after injuring his cruciate knee ligament in the final Premier League game of the 2016/17 season.
The Gunners’ Community Shield match at Wembley kicks off at 2pm (UK time) on Sunday.
