After running a poll on Daily Cannon’s Twitter account, it turns out that 52% of you guys reckon that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain deserves the £125k-per-week he’s allegedly about to be offered.

The 24-year-old is reportedly set to be offered £125k-per-week, which will make him one of the best paid players at Arsenal. £5k more than he was allegedly demanding last week.

And, it turns out that 52% of you guys agree that the club should be handing the England international, who’s spent a decent chunk of his six years at the club sidelined through injury, this much.

I’ll have to respectfully disagree of course. While he does look bright and I would prefer him to stay at the club, especially when the only other options seem to be Chelsea or Liverpool, the dude has only scored 20 goals over all competitions since signing from Southampton. Oh, and he’s assisted 32.

Just because we’re allegedly paying one player X amount, or this player at another club is taking home Y amount, doesn’t mean that I believe that the Ox deserves that much.

For a player set to receive almost as much as Mesut Ozil is currently on, surely he should be producing more when it comes to his end product?

Against Leicester, he completed eight dribbles. Eight. But only got two out of his six shots even on target.

As I said, I’d love him to stay and genuinely like him and what he can bring to the team. However, I just don’t believe he should feel he’s in a position to be making these demands.
