Arsenal want to keep Jack Wilshere and have reportedly offered him a new deal. At the same time, Crystal Palace are considering a loan move for the midfielder.

According to the Daily Star, the Gunners want Wilshere to stay at the Emirates this summer and have offered him a new deal. The England international is one of the many players with only a year left on their contract.

Arsenal are therefore only interested in loaning him out if he signs a long-term with the club, otherwise they’d prefer to cash in on his sale. It seems likely Arsenal would want the academy graduate to stay so the next decision will be Wilshere’s.

After spending last season on loan with Bournemouth, the 25-year-old now has to choose between Arsenal and Crystal Palace somewhat. He’s had a suitor interested in a permanent move, with Sampdoria offering less than his reported £9m asking price, but Wilshere is at a crossroads in his career.

His move to Bournemouth was believed to be his own choice. The playmaker will be desperate to rack up the appearances this season with the 2018 World Cup coming next summer but Arsenal won’t be able to guarantee many minutes given the players currently ahead of him in the pecking order.

It’s therefore up to Wilshere to either take a step down to get minutes for another Premier League side, or fight for his place at boyhood club Arsenal.
