Eagle-eyed Gooners noticed what appeared to be Olivier Giroud snubbing Alexandre Lacazette after he scored against Western Sydney Wanderers but in reality this doesn’t seem to be case.
- Giroud’s Arsenal future uncertain after being dropped from starting line-up last season
- Signing of Lacazette potentially means even more limited game time for Giroud
- Fans thought they saw Giroud snub Lacazette during pre-season friendly against WSW
- Lacazette says Giroud has helped him settle in
After Giroud scored Arsenal’s first goal against WSW, the striker appeared to deliberately look away from and ignore Lacazette, who run over to celebrate with him.

Now, if you didn’t know Giroud and the fact that he usually shrugs his teammates off when celebrating, you’d be forgiven for believing that the France international, bitter over the fact that Arsenal had signed another goalscorer, was snubbing Lacazette.
However, when asked by Laurent Koscielny in a recent interview for Arsenal.com about who had helped him the most at the club, Lacazette revealed that Giroud has been one of the best at getting him to settle in.
“It’s mainly been the French players like you [Koscielny], Olivier [Giroud] and Francis [Coquelin],” the 26-year-old revealed. “They’ve all helped me a lot.”
This suggests that not only was Giroud NOT snubbing Lacazette but that they’re actually getting on just fine behind the scenes.
