Arsene Wenger has said that he wants Arsenal to challenge on all fronts next season.

  • He wants to fight for “difficult” Premier League
  • He said he also wants to win the FA and the Europa League

Surprisingly enough, Wenger wants to win the trophies Arsenal will be competing for next season.

No one is more keenly aware of the pressure to win major silverware than he is, and he has made sure to announce his intention to attain domestic and European success this season.

“The Premier League today is highly competitive, there are six or seven teams who can win trophies and every single trophy is very difficult to win,” he said.

“We want to fight for the Premier League, we want to fight again for the FA Cup and we play in the Europa League and we want to win that. We have to prepare well to do that.

“We finished last season well, we won 10 of the last 11 games and we want to continue that and start in a very strong way.

“I am not on a personal trip. I have the luck to make a very long career in my job and I am completely committed to doing well for Arsenal.”

Arsenal finished a disappointing 5th last season, despite ending with a points tally that would have guaranteed a top four finish in any other season.

It’s indicative of the increasing standard in the Premier League, and the distance Arsenal will need to go if they want to win the Premier League next season.

Last season, of course, ended with a fantastic FA Cup win. The FA Cup has been kind to Arsenal recently and while it alone has never been enough, it’s been a great way to end the season.

The Europa League will be a new and interesting experience for many, and despite it’s less-than favourable reputation, European success has eluded Arsenal for a while now.
