Arsene Wenger believes Paris Saint-Germain’s £196m deal to sign Barcelona forward Neymar came after their failure to bring Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez to the Parc des Princes.

Despite the ongoing rumours of meetings between Alexis’ agent and the PSG officials, the Arsenal manager doesn’t feel the Ligue 1 can sign both attackers this summer, saying:

“No, I don’t think he was in Paris. No. Paris Saint Germain cannot get Sanchez so they go for Neymar. I read L’Equipe in the last three to four days and it has moved from Sanchez to Neymar,” reports the Mirror.

“You know they are speaking about Neymar, a few days they were speaking about Sanchez. They need a subject to write about. My mind has been made up for a while now. I think I’ve made it clear a few times that he is not for sale and this is my stance.”

Sanchez is believed to want a £400,000-a-week contract to either extend his stay with Arsenal or to sign for another club, a price Paris Saint-Germain would have no problem paying, but the Gunners would.
