Arsene Wenger has said that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be staying at Arsenal for the new season but was less definitive when talking about Olivier Giroud’s future at the club.

The Ox has rejected a new Arsenal contract and is set to head into the new season barrelling towards a free exit next summer. Liverpool have been chasing him all summer and had been hopeful that The Ox would be heading their way before the end of August.

There had also been a recent (ridiculous) story that claimed Arsenal had offered him in exchange for Nemanja Matic.

As for Giroud, he wants to stay but may find he needs to leave to be guaranteed a regular starting spot ahead of the World Cup next summer. That being said, his goal against WSW on Saturday morning will have done him no harm.

A host of clubs have been chasing him but Everton still lead the way.

West Ham reportedly withdrew their interest after it became clear they were not his first choice.

Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with a move for the Frenchman.
