Arsene Wenger spoke about Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe in his press conference last night.

  • Wenger said Mbappe has his pick of clubs to join
  • He said all the clubs are interested in signing him

Wenger was asked about the 18-year-old and whether Arsenal still had an interest in signing him this summer.

“Nobody can say they are not interested in a player of that calibre, because he has such immense quality at 18 years of age. All the clubs are open and interested in him,” he said to Arsenal’s official website.

“He’s a player who, when he gets up in the morning, can choose where he wants to go. There are not many players with that kind of luck, because he’s only 18 years of age and has the whole of Europe rolling out a red carpet for him.

Arsenal had so much interest in him that they bid £87m in an attempt to sign this summer but were rebuffed by Monaco. Since then, however, Arsenal’s interest cooled, and they went on to sign Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon instead.
