Watford’s new recruit Kiko Femenia has been advised to follow in Hector Bellerín’s footsteps by La Liga expert Kieran Canning.

Having previously spent time with Barcelona B and Real Madrid B, Kiko Femenia, now 26, has signed for Watford. A winger turned right-back, he has drawn comparison’s to Arsenal young Spaniard, who spent time at Watford himself on loan early in his Arsenal career.

As reported by Watford Observer, Canning states that Bellerín is “probably the best example of the kind of player he should look to follow“. Femenia is a similar height and build to Bellerín, and like Bellerín he didn’t get the chance to break through at Barcelona, so he’ll be hoping that his time in England is a similar success story to Hector’s.

Bellerín has already won two trophies with Arsenal, earned himself a six-and-a-half year deal, and is high on Barcelona’s list of transfer targets, so it’s no surprise that other players will look to replicate his achievements. But a few years older than Bellerín, it’s nearly make or break time for Kiko, Watford will be hoping it’s the former.
