Tottenham have now reportedly joined the race for Riyad Mahrez, as the Algerian forward seeks to complete a move away from Leicester.

The Metro reported Arsenal and AS Roma have been put off by Leicester’s £50m valuation of Mahrez, especially since the player has already requested a transfer.

Tottenham are apparently no more willing to meet Leicester’s valuation than the other clubs, but with Arsenal still chasing Lemar they’ve asked Leicester to keep them up to date with any developments on the Algerian.

The sale of Kyle Walker has allowed Spurs to put in a big bid for Mahrez, meaning they could edge their way ahead of Arsenal in the running. Even Roma were rumoured to have made a bid for the 26-year-old, although City manager Craig Shakespeare has denied any offers.

The Leicester winger’s preference is believed to be the Gunners as they made an approach last summer, but with no offer having come his way, Mahrez may be forced to join another side.
