Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has been left out of Arsene Wenger’s 25-man squad for this summer’s pre-season tour, with Juventus close to securing his signature.

Since returning from a two-year loan spell with AS Roma, the Polish international has been linked with a return to the Serie A. Roma, Napoli and Juventus were believed to be keen, and the latter are leading the race, reports The Sun.

Szczesny was an ever-present for Roma last season, featuring in all but one of their league outings, keeping 14 clean sheets. He was beloved by supporters and returns to Arsenal as a more mature individual than the one that left.

However, the Gunners don’t seem keen to extend his deal past next summer, meaning Juventus could swoop in and sign the shot-stopper at any time.

Despite fans keen for Arsenal to keep Szczsesny, the Gunners have Petr Cech, David Ospina and Emi Martinez for alternate options, which could mean their former homegrown talent will be off..
