Sampdoria are reportedly planning a bid for Jack Wilshere.

  • Wilshere has one year left on his current Arsenal contract
  • There’s no sign of Arsenal extending it
  • Sampdoria are preparing to offer £9m

Wilshere could very well leave Arsenal this summer, as there is little sign of Arsenal extending his contract.

The midfielder has 12 months remaining on his current deal and has been unable to convince Arsenal it’s worth extending.

Clubs are believed to be wary of signing Wilshere due to his injury record. However, according to Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio, Sampdoria are readying a bid of around £9m.

Sampdoria are said to be concerned that £9m may not be enough to convince Arsenal to let him go.

However, Serie A could be a good option for Wilshere.

While it would be a big change from what he’s used to, it would allow him to escape the media frenzy in the UK and focus on rebuilding his career at a good club.

Roma were believed to be one of the club’s interested in taking Wilshere on loan last summer, but he opted for Bournemouth instead.

He made 27 appearances last season, before he suffered a leg fracture in April against Tottenham.

He is confident of being ready for the start of the season.
