Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson was named Man of the Match for his performance in Thursday’s 2-0 pre-season friendly win over Sydney FC, in front of over 80,000 at the ANZ Stadium.

Nelson played 35 games for the Arsenal youth sides last season, according to the Mirror, but could be in and around the first-team after dazzling on the pre-season tour.

Social media was abuzz with praise for his ability and manager Arsene Wenger mentioned his showing against Sydney as proof “the future is brighter”.
He could hardly contain his excitement after the game and took to Twitter to pay tribute to the vocal 80,000-strong supporters at the ANZ Stadium.

Based on his performance against Sydney FC, Arsenal supporters could be seeing a lot of Reiss Nelson in the future. He’s taken his chance to shine with both hands and may now be given more opportunities during the tour as a result.
