Real Madrid are reportedly willing to sell central midfielder, Mateo Kovacic, to Tottenham in order to fund their move for Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe.

Real are keen to bring 18-year-old Mbappe to La Liga but with Monaco allegedly demanding in excess of £130m, they’re having a little bit of trouble funding the move.

Therefore, they reportedly want to sell Kovacic to Spurs, as this could help them afford Mbappe. The 23-year-old made just 27 league appearances last season and therefore would welcome a move if it meant more game time. However, the Croatian’s wage demands are higher than Tottenham’s wage structure would usually allow.

Kovacic has four years left on his current deal with Los Blancos after signing from Inter in 2015.

Whether Spurs actually want the midfielder or not is another matter. As is how much they would be willing to pay.

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be hot on the heels of Mbappe, as are Arsenal, who were said to have put in a £124m over the weekend.
