Tiemoue Bakayoko’s move to Chelsea could be bad news for Arsenal as they try to sign Thomas Lemar.

  • Monaco do not want to sell another first team player after losing Bakayoko
  • Bakayoko is set to complete a £40m move to Chelsea
  • Arsenal are hoping £45m will be enough to land Lemar who is now their top target after signing Lacazette

Bakayoko’s £40m move to Chelsea looks set to be complete soon, which could have a negative on any potential deal for Lemar.

According to the Telegraph’s Chief Football Correspondent, Jason Burt, Monaco are very reluctant to sell any more first team players after Bakayoko’s sale.

Arsenal have been trying to sign Lemar over the last couple of weeks, and are believed to have recently made a bid of £45m.

Monaco, though, seem prepared to dig their heels in over Lemar, which could turn this into yet another protracted saga.

Burt appears to have good connections in France, as he was close to the Alexandre Lacazette deal.

If his information is correct, Arsenal may be forced to look else where to strengthen their wing options this summer.

Riyad Mahrez is believed to be a back-up option.
