Chelsea’s latest signing, Antonio Rudiger, is an Arsenal fan.
- Rudiger has been Arsenal fan for years
- Currently owns Alexis Sanchez shirt
- Centre-back about to sign for Chelsea from Roma for £36m
- Brought through the ranks at Stuttgart
Roma defender Rudiger has revealed that he’s a massive Gooner ahead of his move to Chelsea.
The 24-year-old is set to complete his medical and be announced any day now but has risked upsetting his new fans by admitting that his ‘heart beats for Arsenal’.
“I have been following Arsenal since the days of Henry and Bergkamp,” Rudiger said.
“I have always dreamed of the Premier League. I watch videos of Arsenal all the time on YouTube and I often wear the current Alexis Sanchez shirt.
“My heart beats for Arsenal.”
I wonder whose shirt he’ll be nabbing after Chelsea player the Gunners next season… providing the player in question is still at the club.
Rudiger had been at Roma since 2015 and had three years left on his deal. The Blues are therefore expected to pay £36m to bring the German to London.
He made 36 appearances over all competitions for Roma last season, scoring once and assisting four.
