New signing Alexandre Lacazette is expected to make his home debut in the Emirates Cup at the end of this month.

  • Lacazette is expected to join Arsenal’s squad for Sydney trip
  • He’ll have a full pre-season
  • He should make his Emirates debut in the Emirates Cup

One of the great perks of an early signing is that they can have a full pre-season with their new club. With summer international tournaments messing up the schedule, it’s rare for top players to play in every friendly and go through the full six weeks of preparation.

Lacazette, though, is fully expected to do just that. In Arsenal’s press release confirming the signing, they stated Lacazette would be joining the squad on its tour of Sydney next week.

All being well, he should be able to play in the two games against Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers, before Arsenal head off to China for two more games against Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

Arsenal then come back home to prepare for the Emirates Cup in late July, where Lacazette is expected to make his debut in front of the home Arsenal support. With any luck, our summer will continue to go well and he can be greeted by a happy and excited crowd.
