Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Alexandre Lacazette will make his first Arsenal appearance against Sydney FC on Thursday.

  • Lacazette will play a part in both friendlies this week
  • It will be his first appearance in an Arsenal shirt
  • Sead Kolasinac is also expected to take part

Lacazette signed for Arsenal last week and flew out with the squad to Sydney. Despite not having many training sessions with his new teammates, the striker will make his Arsenal debut against Sydney FC on Thursday, according to Wenger.

“Lacazette will make his debut here, yes,” Wenger said to Arsenal’s official website“On Thursday night he will certainly play a part in the game and in the other game as well. In the two games he will take part.”

Arsenal will play Sydney FC on Thursday and then Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday before flying to China for games against Bayern Munich and Chelsea. Arsenal’s other new signing, Sead Kolasinac, is also expected take part in the games this week.

A full strength squad has been taken, and it’ll be interesting to see how the guys settle in and link-up with the players.
