New signing Alexandre Lacazette was in cheerful mood as he met his new team mates yesterday.

  • Lacazette officially signed for Arsenal yesterday
  • Pictures show him meeting Per Mertesacker, Danny Welbeck and Francis Coquelin

The fans are happy Lacazette has arrived and so is, by the looks of things in the Standard, Lacazette himself.

The striker was officially unveiled yesterday after signing for fee believed to be around £52m.

He was first pictured with a beaming Arsene Wenger as he signed his contract, before he went on to meet some of his team mates.

The sight of the BFG Per Mertesacker towering over the 5′ 9” Lacazette was as amusing as it was heartening. It’s the first time in a while we’ve seen a club captain greet a new player.

Lacazette went on to meet the infectiously happy Danny Welbeck before reuniting with Francis Coquelin.

Coquelin and Lacazette played with each other in France’s youth teams and are said to share a good relationship.

It’s encouraging to see Arsenal’s dressing room be so welcoming. There should be a few familiar faces there for Lacazette, including Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud, who he’s played with for the France national team.
