Despite reports suggesting Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez could move to Tottenham or Roma this summer, former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys still believes he’s Arsenal’s to lose.

Mahrez is reported to be lower down on Arsenal’s summer wishlist than Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, but the French international is proving hard to sign due to his lofty asking price.

Last summer, Mahrez was Arsenal’s number one target, but a deal broke down after he committed his future to Leicester City. 12 months later, the Algerian international has asked for a transfer, but Arsenal will only bring him to the Emirates if they fail to sign Lemar.

It’s led to Tottenham and Roma being interested in the 26-year-old, the latter having made a bid which was rejected by Leicester. But Richard Keys thinks he will be an Arsenal player by the start of next season.

Arsenal’s pursuit for Mahrez is unlikely to resolved for some time, especially if other clubs are now showing an interest.
