Arsene Wenger, Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny and Petr Cech greeted the press in their first press conference of the tour.

The Arsenal squad arrived in Sydney last night and got down to business straight away, answering a number of questions about the upcoming exhibition games and the club’s plans for the future.

Manager Arsene Wenger, chief executive Ivan Gazidis and players Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny and Petr Cech were all in attendance at the conference, which was held in front of the Sydney Opera House.

They all appeared to be in good spirits, having received a very warm welcome to the city.

The conference covered a range of topics, including Arsenal’s interest in Thomas Lemar and Kylian. Alexandre Lacazette was also mentioned and what games he’ll feature in.

Having visited Australia for the first time in decades, the upcoming games against Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers were discussed.

Mertesacker also spoke out about his future role as the club’s academy director. Gazidis was also present to address the gathered journalists about the tour.
