Arsenal’s Josh Dasilva played in England’s successful U19 European Championship final in Georgia on Saturday.

England have had a lot of success with the youth teams in competitions this summer, and this continued as they beat Portugal 2-1 to win the U19 European Championships.

Josh Dasilva came on in the 77th minute to help see out the win, which he did successfully. The Three Lions had to see out the win with 10 men after Tayo Edun was sent off in the 86th minute, making the achievement all the more impressive.

Josh plays most of his matches as a defensive minded midfielder, and is still just 18.

He was an important part of the Arsenal youth teams in 2016/17, making 33 appearances across all competitions, reaching double figures for games in both the U18 Premier League and also in Premier League 2.

He’ll have a break from Arsenal now, just as Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez are having from the senior team, but we congratulate him on his success and look forward to the coming season with the academy.
